Vuyo and the Bathurst Destroyers – A success story

Vuyo Sontsonga had a vision. He wanted to create a soccer club for the youngsters from Nolukhanyo. So he  created the Bathurst Destroyers soccer club. But not only did he devote time and effort for his players, he also came up with a very creative way to generate some neccessary funds for the players’ soccer boots, team shirts, balls and anything else to make a soccer club successful.Soccer players

As part of his club’s team training, they all participate in cleaning up Bathurst Village. Rubbish bags, that are put out for collection by the residents of Bathurst Village, often get picked through and unfortunately end up being strewn about in the bushes next to the roads. So the soccer players are now cleaning up the streets of Bathurst Village on a regular basis. Vuyo has been asking for donations for this service on a purely voluntary basis. The Bathurst residents are happy and follow Voyo’s soccer success story on whatsapp.

The Club goes from strength to strength with league games to be played and tournaments to be attended.

Vuyo cell no. 063 078 9388 for any donations to his soccer club. Aslo see Facebook page Eleven Destroyers FC.
